Gutters

Our climate can be punishing: long snowy winters, followed by melting, and then endlessly rainy springs. Gutters channel water away from your home, protecting its foundation from pooling water and preventing basement flooding that can also be caused by resulting landscape and soil erosion from excess water. Soffits

Also known as eaves or rafters, the soffit is your roof’s overhang, more specifically material installed to cover the underside of the overhang which allows for proper ventilation and provides a more finished appearance. Soffits keep out pests such as birds, bats and rodents, and are essential to the health of your home, not to mention your energy bills, diverting roof heat from the sun or rising heat from within that can build up in attic space. Trapped heat can cause excessive humidity leading to mold and mildew issues, or cause the breakdown of roof shingles causing ice dams and water leaks. Soffits come in a variety of colors, styles and finishes that can be color matched or coordinated to your siding or other exterior materials. Fascia

Just as gutters and soffits are essential to the life of your home, it’s the fascia that holds each item together which can become worn, broken or otherwise damaged over time. This weakens the connection and diminishes the job everything is intended to do. Snow Guards

If you have a metal roof, a big part of its job is to prevent heavy snow and ice pack from building up and to protect you from the dangers of climbing up there all the time with a snow rake. It does this by the nature of its smooth surface, which causes the snow to slide off.

At the same time a snow guard may be necessary to retain snow and ice so it doesn’t “avalanche” from one surface to another—impacting property and landscaping and even injuring people below.
