Five years ago, NH Exteriors came out to put on a new asphalt shingle roof. My farm house is 3,000 years old (wink)—okay, maybe just over 200—but it’s old! I purchased it 18 years ago and wasn’t sure of the age of the roof, but it had begun to leak so it was time.
Interestingly, my circumstances were complicated at the time so only half of the roof was done by NH Exteriors. My brother and I later finished with another company, which was a huge mistake. The second company was everything you don’t want: messy; disrespectful; poor quality materials. This was the opposite of NH Exteriors, where from the beginning they were professional, respectful, clean, knowledgeable, giving us real quality work.
It only took a couple of days and while the job was going on they did an amazing job of cleaning the space before they left each night. I have dogs and was concerned about nails, but they used a drop cloth that hung down from the roof and always raked up and used a magnet. When the job was all done, they left the property cleaner and neater than it was when they got there.
Last year, I noticed a couple of shingles looked like they were right near the edge. I called NH Exteriors and they were right there the next day. I thought they were just coming out to look at it but they fixed it on the spot. The follow-up and what they promise about standing by the work are excellent.
The house is so old I like to say the roof is about the only thing left standing! It’s getting ready to fall down but the roof will still be there—I’m sure of it. I would recommend NH Exteriors to everyone and will hire them again for more work.
